Hours after Spain announced the definitive withdrawal of its ambassador in Buenos Aires, the Argentine president Javier Milei attacked the prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, once again.

"I already have Pedrito in 'match point'", despite what the progressive media may say", said Milei sarcastically, alluding to the movie Zorro, during a business forum on Tuesday night in Buenos Aires.

In sports, it is worth noting, 'match point' is the decisive point to end the game.

"El Zorro is a great character because he was a fabulous anarcho-capitalist (...). He had two types of enemies: Monasterio and all his soldiers, or the State, let's say he took resources from them to take them to Spain... I am still talking about Spain today. Anyway, I already have Pedrito in 'match point', despite what the progressive media may say", said Milei, amid laughter and applause from the audience.

This was the latest reference from the Argentine president to the Spanish prime minister, but it may not be the last. Milei will present tonight in Buenos Aires the same book he presented last week in Madrid: Capitalism, socialism and the neoclassical trap.

But this will not be an ordinary presentation. The Argentine head of state has booked the Luna Park, a legendary venue for sports and music events.

Attacks have followed one another in recent days

The disagreement that began when Milei called Sánchez's wife "corrupt" escalated and the Argentine president has directed several attacks at the Spanish prime minister.

"Pedro Sánchez hides under women's skirts. He is so cowardly that he had to send women to beat me up", said Milei, this Monday, in an interview with the television channel Todo Noticias (TN), referring to the statements made against him by the second vice-president of the Spanish government, Yolanda Díaz, and by the vice-president of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant.

"I'm in a different league". Milei attacks and calls Sánchez a "coward"

The Argentine president attacked his Spanish counterpart again, saying that he "hides under women's skirts" and refuses to apologize "under any circumstances" for the alleged diplomatic crisis.

Spain no longer has an ambassador in Argentina

As a consequence of this diplomatic crisis, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, announced this Tuesday that Spain will withdraw its representation in Argentina.

After announcing that "there will be no Spanish ambassador in Buenos Aires", after a meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Spanish government official explained that the "activity of the embassy will continue at the level of the chargé d'affaires".

"When the diplomatic crisis is over, Spain will have to appoint a new ambassador", said Jose Manuel Albares, adding that "Spanish institutions do not conduct foreign policy with tweets or participate in any spectacle".

The response came from Argentina through the voice of the president himself, Javier Milei, who, in statements to the newspaper La Nación, stated that he would keep the Spanish ambassador in the country and that the position taken by Pedro Sánchez's government shows that "socialists are capable of doing anything". And he added: "It is a nonsense typical of an arrogant socialist".
