Hamas attributes Palestine recognition to "brave resistance"
The Palestinian extremist group Hamas today attributed the decision by Spain, Ireland and Norway to recognise the State of Palestine to the "brave resistance" of the Palestinian people.

"These successive recognitions are the direct result of this courageous resistance and the historic steadfastness of the Palestinian people," Hamas political bureau member Bassem Naim told AFP.
Spain, Ireland and Norway announced on Tuesday that they would recognise the state of Palestine on May 28.
The announcement was made amid a war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip that has lasted for more than seven months.
"We believe that this is a turning point in the international position on the Palestinian issue," Naim said, in Hamas' first reaction to the decision by the three European countries.
