McDonald's employee dries mop next to fries. There's video
The client who witnessed the moment stressed that the workers continued to collect chips, despite the unusual situation.

A McDonald’s employee in Booval, Queensland, has been filmed wiping down a mop in the restaurant’s fries area. The incident happened on April 4, but the footage was only shared by a disgusted customer on Monday.
Debbie Barakat was taking her son out for lunch that day when she noticed the worker using a mop she had just been cleaning the floor with on the heat lamps keeping the chips warm and ready to serve.
“I was waiting for my order when I looked over and heard a worker say, ‘I don’t think you’re supposed to do that, it might catch on fire’,” the woman told Yahoo News Australia.
The customer said staff continued to scoop up fries despite the bizarre behaviour. “I was pretty shocked by what I saw and she just shrugged it off,” she said.
Debbie said she decided to share the footage on Facebook after seeing the store had a string of other complaints from customers.
“Something needs to be done. If they are doing this in front of customers, what are they doing [out of sight]?” she questioned.
A spokesperson for the company assured Yahoo News Australia that the incident was “an isolated event” and that staff had since undergone refresher training on cleaning, hygiene and food safety procedures.
