A 16-year-old teenager was arrested in Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the night of Thursday, May 23, for killing his adoptive parents with a hammer, after an argument, and setting fire to the bodies. According to the G1 website, which quotes the police, it was the young man himself who called the Military Police (PM) and the firefighters to report the homicides. To the authorities, the teenager said that he had argued with his parents because they did not want him to miss school so that he could rest for a jiu-jitsu class. After killing the couple with "hammer blows", the young man left home to have a snack with a friend. When he returned, he set fire to the room where his parents were, on the second floor of the residence. The firefighters put out the fire and the police found the bodies, which would be taken to the local Forensic Institute. The boy had been living with his adoptive family since 2014. His biological parents had four children, who were all removed and placed with other families. According to his older biological brother, the murdered couple were always loving with their son, but he never stopped being aggressive.
