Russia claims control of Berestove village
Russia claimed control of the village of Berestove, which lies on the border between Ukraine's Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, on Tuesday.

"Units of the Western group of forces liberated the town of Berestove [...], as a result of the successfully conducted combat operations," the Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily briefing.
The village is located on the border between the Kharkiv and Lugansk regions.
On Saturday, Moscow's forces had already claimed control of the village of Arkhangelske, which is also in the eastern part of the country.
On May 10, the Russian army launched an offensive in the Kharkiv region, which led Ukraine to send reinforcements to these areas.
Kiev says that Russia's progress in the region has already been halted.
Ukrainian troops have been facing a shortage of soldiers and ammunition.
The Russian military offensive in Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24, 2022, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).
