A group of people threw a man onto the subway tracks in Madrid, Spain, to rob him.

The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. (6:00 a.m. in mainland Portugal) on Sunday, according to the victim of the assault, as reported by the newspaper ABC.

As he was waiting for the train to arrive, distracted by his cell phone, the group approached the man of Argentine nationality and kicked and punched him.

The account was given by the victim himself, 27 years old, who was left without his iPhone 15 smartphone (with prices ranging from 850 to 1,230 euros) and without a Lacoste watch.

After the assault, the suspects also made a point of throwing the man onto the tracks, where he ran the risk of being fatally run over by a subway train. However, he managed to get to safety in time.

At La Princesa Hospital in the Spanish capital, he received treatment for his injuries.

The National Police are investigating the case, mainly using video surveillance cameras.
