Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani stressed that Raisi's death "will not change" the country's stance on the Palestinian cause and the fight against Israel, nor will it affect efforts to lift sanctions imposed by the United States.
Support for "the oppressed people of Palestine and the resistance groups that are fighting to gain their right to liberate their land from the Zionist regime will continue as before," Kanaani said at a press conference.
"Our support is a moral duty and an international responsibility," the spokesman added, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
"There has been no change in the framework of our indirect talks with the United States in the framework of the negotiations to address these unjust sanctions. We will continue to pursue these diplomatic efforts in the same way," he added.
President Ebrahim Raisi died on May 19 in a helicopter crash.
Mohammad Mokhber has been appointed interim President of Iran, and presidential elections have been called for June 28.
