18-year-old student arrested after stabbing teacher in France

An 18-year-old high school student was arrested on Monday after stabbing his teacher at a school in Chemillé-en-Anjou, in the French department of Maine-et-Loire.
According to the Agence France-Presse (AFP) news agency, "the victim suffered a facial injury with no life-threatening prognosis" and the young man was arrested "very quickly".
The incident happened this morning, at 9:45 am local time (8:45 am in Lisbon), at a high school. After the attack, the young man fled through a window and left the murder weapon. However, he was arrested by the "National Gendarmerie, with the support of the municipal police".
The case is being treated as attempted murder and the young man was completely unknown to the police, the Gendarmerie and the justice services.
