Model Alejandra Rodríguez, 60, became popular in late April after winning the Miss Universe contest in the province of Buenos Aires, but failed to win the national contest's crown to represent Argentina. However, she reached the top 15 and received a distinction. This was the first edition of the Miss Universe Argentina contest in which there was no age limit for the contestants - previously the limit was 28 years old - and, therefore, Alejandra decided to apply under the motto "it is always possible". Among contestants aged between 18 and 40, Alejandra was the oldest in the contest, which was won by Magali Benejam, from the province of Córdoba. Benejam herself would not have been able to compete if the rules regarding age had not been changed, since she is 29 years old. According to CNN, Alejandra reached the top 15 of the contest and received the special award for 'Miss Face' in Miss Universe Argentina 2024. In a speech, the model stated that the competition "a crazy adventure" and stressed that it is possible to overcome fears and prejudices. "This competition marked a before and after in my life. I learned a lot about myself, about everything I am capable of doing. I want to thank those who bet on me in this crazy adventure", she said, also thanking the press for telling her story "in so many places in the world". "There is always a new, different and better version of ourselves. The only thing we have to do is evoke it. But do you know where it is? It is beyond fears. You have to face those fears, face prejudice and move forward when you have a goal and a dream", she highlighted.
