The Gaza Health Ministry said in a statement posted on the Telegram social media network that "the Indonesian field hospital and Tal al-Sultan clinic have stopped operating, leaving only Tal al-Sultan maternity hospital struggling to survive and provide services to patients in the province of Rafah".

Gaza health officials have accused Israel of "deliberately targeting many hospitals and primary healthcare centers" in the area, causing "severe damage, in addition to the martyrdom of several health workers and the difficulty of citizens reaching them".

The offensive had already led to the suspension of operations in several hospitals and centers in the city, including the Abu Yusef al-Nayar hospital, the Abu al-Walid medical center, the Rafah field hospital and the Kuwait specialized hospital.

"We reiterate our appeal to all international institutions to provide protection for all hospitals, health workers and ambulances in the face of the oppression and arrogance of the Israeli occupation," it stressed, also referring to the intensification of Israel's offensive in recent days against the city.

The shortage of medical facilities poses a threat to the health of sick and wounded Palestinians as a result of Israeli attacks, including the one carried out on Monday morning against an internally displaced persons camp in Rafah, which left at least 45 dead and about 250 wounded, according to Gaza authorities.

Israel launched its offensive against Rafah on May 6, shortly after rejecting a ceasefire proposal presented by Egypt and Qatar that had been supported by Hamas, leading to the suspension of humanitarian operations through border crossings.

Tensions have been rising since then due to the intensification of the Israeli offensive in Gaza, despite international appeals and an order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to end its attacks.

The war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, after the Palestinian Islamist group entered Israeli territory and killed about 1,200 people and kidnapped about 240 others. Hamas claims that more than 36,000 people have died in the Israeli offensive on the Palestinian enclave.
