Military plane crashes in the United States. Pilot is "conscious"

A military aircraft crashed Tuesday at an airfield near Albuquerque International Sunport in New Mexico.
The pilot is conscious and has been transported to the hospital, according to local authorities, KOB4 reported. The aircraft involved is believed to be an F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
The airport also confirmed on social media that "a military aircraft has crashed off of the airfield on the southside of the Sunport."
"One soul aboard, pilot is conscious and being transported. Flight operations have resumed, but check with your airline for flight status," it said.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
