"In total, we evacuated 11,253 people from the Chuguev, Kharkiv, where the regional capital of the same name is located, and Bogodukhiv districts," the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, wrote on his Telegram channel.

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has repeatedly shelled these three districts in north-eastern Ukraine.

In Chuguev, a guided aerial bomb dropped by Russian aircraft damaged dozens of civilian buildings, according to a report by Sinegubov.

In the Kharkiv district, a farm and an educational institution were damaged as a result of shelling by the Russian military, which launched four airstrikes in the area on Tuesday. A 40-year-old man was injured in the shelling.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, has been conducting a new offensive since 10 May, after suffering a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer.
