Cargo plane makes emergency landing in Tokyo after engine fire
A cargo plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Tokyo's Narita airport, Japan's main gateway, on Thursday due to an engine fire.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777, had taken off from Narita bound for Los Angeles, in the USA, at around 10:16am (01:16am in Lisbon), but shortly afterwards informed air traffic control at the airport of the fire.
The plane, operated by the North American airline Polar Air Cargo, had to return to Narita, forcing the closure of one of the airport's two runways for around 30 minutes.
In images broadcast by Japanese public television NHK, the Boeing 777 dumped fuel into the sea before landing and touched down in a controlled manner on the runway, without causing any injuries or material damage.
This aircraft is the same model as the Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300 ER which, on 21 May, was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok after being shaken in mid-flight by strong turbulence.
The incident caused one death, allegedly from cardiac arrest, and more than 50 injuries, 20 of which were serious.
Today's emergency landing is the latest in a series of incidents to affect Japan's airports this year.
On 2 January, five members of the Japanese Coast Guard died in the collision of an aircraft with a commercial plane at another Tokyo airport, Haneda, which forced the evacuation of around 400 people and caused a large fire.
On 1 February, the wings of two planes operated by the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways touched at Itami airport, in the Osaca province, in the west of the country, without causing any injuries.
On 22 April, a plane from the Turkish airline Turkish Airlines deviated from the designated landing route at Haneda airport.
