Surveillance footage captured the moment a woman allegedly driving drunk was pulled over, only for officers to realize she was a... fellow cop.
Sgt. Andrea Smith was arrested by her own department in Miami Gardens, Florida, for DUI and reckless driving on March 14.
"Are you serious, sergeant, are you serious?" officers can be heard asking as they realize who is getting out of the car during the traffic stop.
Smith, a 10-year veteran of the force, was allegedly seen running two red lights and speeding in a Mercedes before she was pulled over.
When she stepped out of the vehicle in a dress and heels, she had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, according to a police report obtained by NBC.
The woman refused to take a breathalyzer test and was taken to jail. "I'm not impaired. I'm sober," Smith allegedly told arresting officers.
The sergeant has pleaded not guilty to the charges but has been relieved of duty by the Miami Gardens Police Department. Her attorney, Mark Lefcourt, told NBC6 that body camera footage supports the sergeant's claims that she was sober.
