ASAE arrests 3 people in Guimarães for illegal gambling. Machines seized
The Food and Economic Safety Authority also initiated a criminal proceeding for the practice of the crime of operating games of chance or luck outside of legally authorized locations

The Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) arrested three people for operating and participating in games of chance or gambling, in the municipality of Guimarães, in the district of Braga.
According to a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto, the arrests came after an operation to combat illegal gambling and prevent crime, carried out by the Northern Regional Unit – Barcelos Operational Unit.
"The action resulted in the opening of 1 criminal case for the crime of operating games of chance or gambling outside of legally authorized places, and the arrest of 3 suspects", the authorities explained.
During the action, two gambling machines with an estimated commercial value of 7,000.00 euros were also seized, as well as 250.00 euros in cash, which was found inside the equipment.
