Unilever has decided to proceed with a voluntary recall in the UK and Ireland of certain batches of 100ml Magnum Classic multipacks, "following internal quality checks which indicated the possible presence of small metal pieces".
This decision, the company clarifies, "has no impact on Portugal".
In a statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, Unilever stresses that consumer safety is the "top priority", "which is why we assess the potential health risks arising from the consumption or use of our products".
For this reason, the affected products were recalled in the UK and Ireland: "The products that are being voluntarily recalled belong to batches L3324, L3325, L3326, L3327, L3328, with an expiry date of 11/2025. This information can be found on the side of the Magnum Classic 100ml multipack packaging".
"We confirm that all our ice creams on the market are safe for consumption", Unilever also stresses.
According to international publications, this is not the first time that agencies have requested the return of these products, with this request being the second in less than a month.
