Loures City Council wants to build 152 houses at controlled prices by 2026
The Loures City Council intends to build 152 houses at controlled prices by 2026 in the parish of Camarate, in an investment of 22 million euros, the local authority's vice-president told Lusa today.

The mayor mentioned that the construction of this housing project, funded under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), will be located near the Eixo Norte/Sul highway, and will consist of eight blocks, with four floors, for a total of 16 buildings and 152 homes.
In terms of typologies, the project foresees the construction of 56 T1, 45 T2, 48 T3 and four T4 apartments.
Regarding deadlines, Sónia Paixão estimated that the start of the works will still take place this year and the completion in 2026, with a planned investment of 22 million euros.
"In a global set of applications that we submitted to the IHRU, we aim to build more than 420 new homes, in addition to the rehabilitation of around 1,011 homes. This is our goal in implementing the Local Housing Strategy," she stressed.
Still on the subject of housing, the mayor said that the municipality of Loures "is using all available tools to increase public supply", but is also committed to preventing the construction of more precarious settlements.
"We cannot in any way condone illegal situations. In the areas where we know that there are still very fragile construction areas, we have been monitoring them to prevent them from growing," she said.
