César Nogueira, president of the Association of Guard Professionals (APG/GNR), stated this Monday that the Minister of Internal Administration, Margarida Blasco, "guaranteed" that the Government will assign a mission supplement to the police, but did not present any value at the meeting, referring to a new meeting on May 2.
In statements to reporters, after a meeting with the Government, César Nogueira began by stating that the "mission supplement" is a "priority" issue, since the police demand "equality in relation to the Judicial Police (PJ)". "We cannot be treated differently as a criminal police body and, therefore, we demand the same value. That is what the Minister says she will present", he began by saying. "The Minister says that we will not be penalized, she made a commitment that they will present on the 2nd and we hope that, on the 2nd, it will in fact be resolved", he added, saying that he hopes that "other meetings" will not be necessary, namely one scheduled for May 15. "As I conveyed to the Minister, let's hope that a next meeting is not necessary beyond the 2nd, because we want to believe that equality is very easy to achieve", he stressed. According to the official, the Minister has not yet provided values, since this matter is "being dealt with" by her team, since these values will also vary "by categories and positions", and he added that the Government will present the numbers at the meeting on May 2. Asked if the minister guaranteed that she would apply a mission supplement to the GNR, César Nogueira answered in the affirmative. "Yes, the Minister guaranteed that this is what she will assign. That is why we are in these meetings", he stated. It should be recalled that the Minister of Internal Administration began negotiations today with the PSP and GNR structures for the "dignification and valorization of the security forces". The four socio-professional associations of the GNR and the six PSP unions that will meet with Margarida Blasco demand the allocation of a mission supplement identical to that of the PJ, but in a note released this week the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) only states that "these meetings will be the beginning of the construction of the basis for understanding and conciliation between the entities involved, with a view to the dignification and valorization of the security forces". In the same note, the MAI also indicates that the meeting aims to "define and establish the methodology and protocol for hearing and negotiation" and to present "the assumptions of the scope and object for discussion and negotiation between the parties". An official source from the MAI contacted by Lusa referred more information about the negotiation process and the increase in the mission supplement for after today's meeting. "We are working on the meeting together with the Ministry of Finance", said the source. The first meeting took place at 4:30 pm with the Association of Guard Professionals (APG/GNR), National Association of Guard Sergeants (ANSG), Independent Socio-Professional Association of the Guard (ASPIG), National Autonomous Association of the Guard (ANAG) and National Association of Guard Officers (ANOG). The meeting with the Union Association of Police Professionals, Independent Union of Police Agents, Union of Police Professionals, National Union of Chiefs' Careers, National Union of Police Officers and National Union of Police was scheduled for 6:00 pm.
