In the action, which also had the collaboration of the Coastal and Border Control Unit (UCCF) of the GNR, whose main objective was to "inspect the conditions required for seafarers to carry out the activity on board the vessels, (...) eleven reports were drawn up by the Maritime Police", the statement points out.
According to the AMN, the proceedings were initiated "due to the boarding of seafarers without being included in the crew list, as well as to violations of the minimum safety manning and lack of legal qualification, especially by non-seafarers, to carry out the fishing activity".
"The verification of the working conditions on board was also relevant, and numerous notifications were made by the ACT members, related to documentary procedures to be regularised. The legal compliance of the entry and stay of foreigners in the national territory was also verified by the UCCF, and no irregularities were identified", the press release continues.
