"Struggling" water sports practitioner rescued in Funchal
The victim was removed from the sea and did not require medical assistance.

A 27-year-old man who was practicing water sports was rescued on Monday afternoon by elements of the Portuguese Navy, in front of the Cais da Ribeira, in Funchal, Madeira.
The victim "was in difficulty at sea", highlighted the Portuguese Navy in a statement.
The alert for the rescue was given "to the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub-centre of Funchal (MRSC Funchal)" at 4:48 pm, "by a civilian".
Following this, a "vessel with elements of the Funchal Lifeboat Station" was activated to carry out the rescue, which occurred "11 minutes after the alert".
The individual was removed from the sea and "transported to the Marina of Funchal", and did not require "medical assistance".
