A 17-year-old boy was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Sunday for threatening and insulting police officers in Lisbon. The boy even put "his head against a policeman's, as a sign of intimidation".

According to a statement sent to the newsrooms, the officers were carrying out a patrol action when they were approached by a CP auditor "in order to provide assistance in identifying two individuals without a valid transport title".

When the train stopped at Campolide railway station, the officers spotted and prevented the suspects from leaving.

The police officers informed the two young men that they would have to be identified, but one of them "did not comply with the order and reacted aggressively and uncooperatively". "The suspect always adopted a threatening and hostile pose, having directed several insults and threats against the police officers", stressed the PSP.

In the note, the PSP also states that the boy was "warned several times" but "maintained the behavior, not complying with the order, to the point of having put his head against a policeman's".

The detainee was notified to appear at the Local Criminal Court of the Lisbon Petty Crime Section.
