Military personnel fight fire on abandoned ship docked in Faro
The military on the Portuguese Navy ship NRP Dragão detected the fire in an early stage, having managed to contain the flames to the deck area of the vessel.

The military personnel from the Portuguese Navy ship NRP Dragão fought a fire on an abandoned vessel that was located on the commercial dock of Vila Real de Santo António, in the district of Faro.
According to a statement that Notícias ao Minuto had access to, the Navy reports that the military managed to detect the fire at an early stage, having managed to contain the flames to the deck area of the vessel Charles Babin, and prevent them from spreading.
Subsequently, elements of the Fire Department of Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim managed to fight the fire, which is in the cooling down phase.
The NRP Dragão is commanded by Second Lieutenant Ana Torres and has a crew of 8 elements and is on duty in the Southern Maritime Zone.
