Vila Real. Police arrest 19-year-old suspect of setting fire to school
A fire that broke out on the night of April 27 put at risk the structure of a building that had seven classrooms, including a physical-chemical laboratory, presumably with flammable materials.

The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a young man for the presumed authorship of the fire crime in the facilities of the EB23 Diogo Cão School, in Vila Real.
According to a statement issued by the authorities this Thursday, it is a 19-year-old who, "for futile reasons, entered that place and set fire next to Pavilion 4".
At issue was a fire that broke out on the night of April 7 and was extinguished by the Volunteer Firefighters of Vila Real - Cruz Verde. Elements of the Municipal Civil Protection and the Public Security Police were also present in the situation.
"The fire [...] put the entire structure of that building, composed of 7 classrooms, a physics-chemistry laboratory, a storage room for various teaching materials and two administrative offices, at risk", reads the PJ note.
The detainee will be brought to judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
