The meetings at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, in Lisbon, will start at 08:30 with the National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof), will continue at 10:15 with the National Education Federation (FNE) and will end between 12:00 and 13:30 with ASPL, FENEI, FEPECI, Pró-Ordem, SEPLEU, SIPE, SIPPEB, SNPL, SPLIU and Stop.

According to a note from the ministry, the negotiation process also aims at "other measures to value the teaching career".

At the end of a series of meetings with trade unions held two weeks ago, the first since he took office, the Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, showed himself available to negotiate the recovery of service time, highlighting that the Government's proposal foresees starting to return this year with 20% of the value and the remaining 80% in the next four years of the legislature.

The minister recalled that the various trade unions presented very different formulas for the reinstatement of service time.

The majority defend a recovery in three years (33% per year), but there were also those who proposed 60% in the first two years and 40% in the last two, or 25% per year. Stop, for example, defended a recovery in just two years, that is, 50% each year.
