Three men between the ages of 25 and 29 were arrested on the night of April 30 for being suspected of having stolen a light goods vehicle in the Lisbon parish of Arroios.
The arrests took place at 8:15 pm that day, after the Public Security Police (PSP) was informed that a theft was taking place inside a light goods vehicle, as reported by that authority in a statement sent to the newsrooms.
It turns out that, at the scene, the police were alerted by a witness that the individuals "had just caught a bus".
The officers managed, however, to locate the bus and intercept the suspects, who had "in their possession a toolbox and a refrigerator filter, items stolen from inside the vehicle".
The men were arrested, since "the injured party expressed the desire to proceed criminally against the perpetrators of the offense".
As the individuals have no fixed address and there are "strong indications of failure to appear in court", the suspects were taken to the Lisbon Command detention rooms to be present at the first judicial interrogation. The trial will be scheduled for a later date.
This was an action by the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP, through the 1st Police Division.
