The Queima das Fitas organization invested around 600,000 euros in this year's poster (60,000 euros more than in 2023), expecting that the overall results will surpass those recorded last year, said the general coordinator, Carlos Missel, during the presentation of the event's official poster, which took place today.

"Sales are telling us that. In 2023, we had a very strong day, but, in comparison, we will have more days close" to those achieved on the night of Ivete Sangalo, said the official, highlighting that one of the big names, the Puerto Rican Myke Towers, will perform on a Monday, seeking to reverse what is historically a weak day at Queima das Fitas.

For Carlos Missel, this year's edition "is the most eclectic poster, in terms of musical styles", with "big names spread over several days", considering that it is "the most successful poster in recent times".

At the official presentation, the remaining names that make up the poster were announced, with highlights including the British James Bay (May 29), the Brazilian DJ Guuga (28) and the Portuguese Piruka (24).

The location of the Serenata, which traditionally takes place in the Largo da Sé Velha, has yet to be decided, but the organization's proposal received an unfavorable opinion from the PSP.

Carlos Missel stressed that Queima das Fitas will present solutions and alternatives to try to ensure positive opinions, in order to ensure that the Serenata can take place in the Sé Velha.

"We have a margin of time to organize the event within the rules. We will try", he stressed.

The names announced today join those already confirmed: Rui Veloso, Slow J, Excesso or Nininho Vaz Maia and Cláudia Leitte, among others.

Rui Veloso will perform on June 1, Former Student's Day, when the Portuguese 'boysband' Excesso will also perform.

Slow J, a Portuguese rapper who released "Afro Fado" in 2023, performs on May 30 and the singer Nininho Vaz Maia on May 25.

The rapper and composer Matuê will be on stage at Praça da Canção, also known as "Queimódromo" during the student festival, in a poster that features several Portuguese hip-hop and rap names in addition to Slow J, such as Dillaz, ProfJam or Lon3r Johny.

The musician Quim Barreiros performs on the Sunday of the procession (26), as usual, on a day that will feature several pimba music artists, such as Iran Costa, Ruth Marlene or Jorge Guerreiro.

In 2023, the Queima das Fitas organization increased the maximum capacity of the venue from 20,000 to 25,000 people.
