Traffic back to normal on the A4 after accident with two seriously injured
Traffic is back to normal on the A4 motorway, in the Pópulo area, Alijó, three hours after a collision that caused serious injuries to a couple in their 70s, which had affected traffic, according to the GNR and firefighters.

The accident alert was given at 08:42 and, according to the commander of the Cruz Verde de Vila Real, Vitorino Cardoso, the collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a car resulted in two serious injuries, a couple of about 70 years old.
Traffic was conditioned in the area of the accident, at kilometer 113 of the A4, in Pópulo, municipality of Alijó, for the rescue operations, and, according to a source from the GNR contacted around 11:30, the situation is already normalized.
The INEM helicopter was activated to the scene, but, after evaluation by the doctors, the victims were transported by ambulance to the Vila Real hospital, integrated into the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Local Health Unit.
The occurrence involved firefighters from Cruz Verde and Cruz Branca, GNR and INEM, which mobilized the Macedo de Cavaleiros helicopter and the Immediate Life Support (SIV) ambulance from Mirandela.
