The Portuguese Navy rescued, on Tuesday, an 80-year-old British man from a passenger ship that was sailing about 25 miles, the equivalent of about 46 kilometers, west of Póvoa de Varzim.

In a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto, the Navy reveals that the Sky Princess passenger suffered a stroke and needed to be rescued urgently.

Following the alert, given at 9:56 pm, a lifeboat went to the scene, received the passenger and transported him to the Póvoa de Varzim lifeboat station, where he docked at 00:13.

There, the British passenger was assisted by the INEM medical team and later transported to the hospital.
