The Platform of Unions and Associations of the PSP and GNR announced this Wednesday that a meeting will be held tomorrow at the national headquarters of the ASPP/PSP, "in order to deliberate on the counterproposal to be submitted to the MAI".

In a statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, the platform also highlights that the counterproposal takes place "in reaction to that presented by the Government" of a mission supplement between 365.13 and 625.94 euros, meaning an increase of up to 75 euros.

"There will also be room to discuss the preparation of possible forms of struggle, should the MAI maintain what it called an 'initial proposal'", the note also reads.

It should be recalled that the Minister of Internal Administration proposed, last Thursday, a new mission supplement for members of the PSP and GNR between 365.13 and 625.94 euros, which will replace the current service and risk supplement in the security forces.

With this new mission supplement, which is based on the base salaries of the PSP national director and the GNR commander-general, which is 5,216.23 euros, there are police officers and GNR military personnel who receive a salary lower than they currently receive, according to the PSP unions and GNR associations, who met with Margarida Blasco on Thursday.

The current service and risk supplement in the security forces that PSP and GNR members receive has a variable component that corresponds to 20% of the base salary and a fixed component of 100 euros.

According to the proposal presented by the Government to the PSP unions, the officers would have a mission supplement of 12% of the base salary of the PSP national director and the GNR commander, while the percentage for the PSP chiefs and GNR sergeants is 9% and for the agents and guards is 7%.

The police officers demand a mission supplement identical to that which the previous socialist Government attributed to the Judiciary Police, which in some cases led to an increase of around 700 euros.

At the end of the meeting with the minister, the leaders of the PSP unions and the GNR socio-professional associations expressed themselves completely against this Government proposal and stated that they felt "extremely wronged". The platform that brings together these structures will present a counterproposal to the minister at the next meeting, on May 15.
