"We must be attentive to our European project and its quality", said the head of the Portuguese diplomacy, in a video message released on the Portuguese diplomacy's page on the social network X.
The minister explained that he participated today, within the scope of Europe Day, in the Civil Society Conferences, organized by RTP, to "explain some of the most important policies" of the European project, related to the economy and to the circulation of people and goods and matters related to community funds.
Rangel also met with ambassadors from the other 26 countries that are part of the European Union (EU).
"It is with them in Lisbon, it is with others in Brussels, it is with each one in the European capitals that we design the policies that can increase the well-being, prosperity and quality of life of European citizens", defended the Portuguese minister in the video message.
Europe Day is celebrated annually on May 9, to mark the anniversary of the historic Schuman Declaration, which set out Robert Schuman's vision of a new form of political cooperation in Europe, laying the seeds for the current EU.
