Woman dies after disappearing into the sea on a beach in Póvoa de Varzim

A woman died early on Monday morning at Praia de Aver-o-Mar, in Póvoa de Varzim, confirmed Notícias ao Minuto with a source from the Firefighters and Civil Protection.
The alert was given at 6:08 am. A source from the Póvoa de Varzim Volunteer Firefighters had specified that the fatal victim was a woman, but did not provide further details about the occurrence.
To the Lusa agency, a source from this corporation said that the woman disappeared in the sea, next to a bar, and was found shortly after on the beach in cardiorespiratory arrest and ended up dying on the spot.
According to the source, the victim, who was accompanied by someone who gave the alert, disappeared in the sea today around 6:00 am in circumstances that are still being investigated.
The young woman will have entered the sea behind the Bar na Praia and disappeared into the water, having "a short time later" reached the coast still alive, but in irreversible cardiorespiratory arrest.
In addition to the Firefighters, the Immediate Life Support (SIV) ambulance from Vila do Conde, the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from Hospital Pedro Hispano, the Maritime Police and the commander of the Póvoa de Varzim Harbor Master's Office were also on the scene.
