Training ship Sagres docks in Aveiro for a week of free visits
Aveiro hosts official commemorations of Navy Day, which includes visits to the training ship Sagres.

The training ship Sagres docked in Aveiro, where it will be open for free visits from this Monday until May 20th.
Thus, for a week, the training ship will be open to the public, as part of the Navy Day celebrations.
Here are the visiting hours, provided by the Portuguese Navy:
- May 13th – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.;
- May 14th and 15th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (*exclusive for schools);
- May 16th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.;
- May 17th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.;
- May 18th, 19th and 20th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Navy reminds that visits are on a first-come, first-served basis, without the need for prior booking and that the hours may be subject to change.
Built in 1937, in Hamburg (Germany), the training ship Sagres is the most decorated and the only one to display foreign decorations on its national standard, having made its debut in 1964 in international regattas and in what was also the first transatlantic regatta of large sailing ships.
The Navy Day celebrations also include exhibitions of equipment, concerts, sports, and sea baptisms.
