The police operation triggered on Sunday is about an inquiry led by the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) of the Porto Investigation and Criminal Action Department (DIAP), related to FC Porto tickets and the Super Dragões fan club.

The investigation aimed at the "seizure of evidence of the completion of the crimes of distribution and sale of false or irregular tickets", "irregular distribution and sale of tickets", "as well as the crime of qualified breach of trust", the statement adds.

"The operation included 14 house searches and four non-house searches, in the areas of Porto, Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia", the PSP adds.

During the operation of the PSP Criminal Investigation Division, with the support of the Special Police Unit (UEP), 13 defendants (eight men and five women) were identified and constituted, within the scope of the illicit activities under investigation.

The 'Golden Ticket' operation also resulted in the seizure of about 3,000 tickets, the amount of 44,400 euros, various documentation related to the illicit activities in question, computer and telecommunications equipment and a pyrotechnic device, known as a torch.

The 'Golden Ticket' action originated from a certificate extracted from the inquiry that led to the 'Praetorian' operation, and which aimed at the execution of 14 house search warrants and four non-house search warrants.

At issue is the suspicion of a criminal scheme, related to the distribution and sale of tickets associated with FC Porto, involving club employees and several members of one of its fan clubs.

Evidence was collected of the suspicion of crimes of distribution and sale of false or irregular tickets and irregular distribution and sale of tickets provided for by law.

The MP suspects collusion between employees linked to FC Porto and an associated company and members of Super Dragões in the purchase of tickets for football matches later sold on the 'black market', which led to the searches carried out on Sunday.
