Preventive measures for suspect of domestic violence against women and children

On May 9, the Republican National Guard (GNR) arrested a 61-year-old man suspected of domestic violence in the municipality of Barcelos.
In a statement, this Monday, the security force explained that, in the scope of an occurrence involving a situation of domestic violence, the military went to the scene "where they witnessed the aggressor threatening the victim, his 60-year-old partner, as well as the 36-year-old son".
Following the action, "the individual also threatened" the guards and ended up being arrested.
The detainee was presented on May 11 to the Esposende Judicial Court, and the precautionary measure of preventive detention was decreed, so he was taken to the Braga Prison Establishment.
