Fire in Alpedrinha, Fundão municipality, leaves man homeless
A wildfire in the village of Alpedrinha, in the municipality of Fundão, left a house uninhabitable and its only resident displaced.

In statements to the Lusa agency, the deputy commander of the Fundão Volunteer Firefighters, José Moreno, reported that the man is between 70 and 80 years old, left the building on his own and that the flames were confined to the living room/kitchen of the 1-bedroom apartment where he lived, in a building with more floors.
According to José Moreno, the alert was given at 07:20 and 11 firefighters were at the scene, supported by four vehicles, plus a GNR patrol.
The municipal coordinator of civil protection of Fundão, Vasco Ferreira, told the Lusa agency that the local authority has already guaranteed the man's relocation to a house in the municipality, in the district of Castelo Branco.
Vasco Ferreira added that the local authority's services are monitoring the situation and providing the necessary support.
