German man missing in Portugal. Family suspect caravan attack

A 39-year-old German citizen has been missing since May 4 in Portugal, where he had been travelling for several months.

In an email sent to Notícias ao Minuto, the family revealed that they are desperate about the disappearance of Artur Lorenz, last seen on the night of May 4, at the Miradouro Santa Luzia, in Viseu, where, according to them, there was an "attack on motorhomes".

"Since then, there has been no trace or sign of life. We do not know what happened to Artur or where he went", describe the relatives.

The family is now asking for help from anyone who has more information or knows something about the incident. If you know anything, you can send an email to schell.sabine@gmx.net

Artur is 39 years old and 1.75 meters tall. He is from Heilbronn, in southern Germany, and travels in a Mercedes Vito van with the license plate S-AL-3355. The family believes that, although he intended to return home soon, he has not yet left Portugal.

To The Portugal News, sister Sabine Schell said that "thanks to the enormous help of thousands of people all over Europe who shared the missing person flyer and who got actively involved" some "useful leads" have been found in recent days that have already been "passed on to the police".

"We know that his last location was in the parking lot of Miradouro Santa Luzia, in Viseu. There were people who saw him and his white, converted Vito, and even took pictures of him in the background. We currently assume that he was attacked that night, as neither his mobile phone nor any other signs of life have emerged since then", she said, adding that "broken glass" was found where her brother's vehicle was parked, as well as a few meters away, in another place.

The Public Security Police (PSP) confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto that, on May 10, it received the report of Artur Lorenz's disappearance and that the "normal procedures" are being carried out in these cases.
