Several immigrants waited to be seen again at the doors of the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA), this Tuesday, with long queues forming in several locations across the country. The issue is an email sent by the agency requesting advance payment of the scheduling costs to complete regularization processes. The demand is generating revolt and doubts among immigrants, who have been flocking to its facilities. Tensions began to escalate at the agency's door in Lisbon, with a rapid intervention team from the Public Security Police (PSP) being mobilized. According to SIC Notícias, the authority was called after tempers flared when PSP agents and security members of the site announced "that no more tickets would be distributed". The tickets were intended for the service provided between 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm. After the scheduled service was carried out in the morning, these tickets would be for all the other people who were on site in the last hours, as well as since the previous day, says the reporter on site, who reports the presence of several hundred people. Those who did not get a ticket will not be seen today. Just over 200 tickets were made available. According to the PSP spokesman, the agents had already been called to the facilities in Lisbon and Porto on Monday as well, "in a preventive perspective" given the high number of migrant citizens.
