Detained after assaulting a woman in Leiria. Minor daughter handed a katana to the PSP
After several attempts to dialogue with the defendant, the daughter of both managed to go outside, handing over a katana to the police.

According to a statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, the alert was given by a man who, after an altercation in traffic, called the authorities. The man was driving his vehicle with his family and the car following him was honking insistently. As the driver did not stop honking, the man stopped the car, coincidentally in front of the garage and residence of the detainee.
After insults and threats, the suspect locked himself in the house. At the scene, the police were able to hear the screams of the victim asking for help.
"After several attempts to dialogue with the defendant, the daughter of both managed to go outside, handing over to the police a katana that the aggressor had in his possession, in order to be able to carry out his intention to use it against them", can be read in the statement of the PSP.
The police managed to get the man to open the door of the house and arrested him.
The detainee, who has no known complaints of domestic violence, was presented to the Leiria Court and is subject to a term of identity and residence.
