The President of the Republic considered unlikely a possible dissolution of the Assembly of the Republic in the coming months, defending, this Tuesday, that "the water is not flowing in that direction".
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa commented, in statements to Observador, on the position taken by Manuel Castro Almeida, Deputy Minister and Minister of Territorial Cohesion, who, in an interview with Público, on Monday, defended that "to reject the budget" means "to go to elections".
"I do not comment on party issues, in election time. A lot of water will flow under the bridge and I think it is not flowing in that direction, but in another direction", defended the Head of State.
On whether he believes that the Government will have a longer lifespan, Marcelo defended a stable solution. "It is what I wish. What I wish is for it to be stable. In addition to wishing, if you want me to tell you, I think the water may flow in that direction. We'll see."
