Man in preventive detention for threatening partner with weapons in Odemira
The Odemira Judicial Court (Beja) today ordered the preventive detention of the 46-year-old man who allegedly threatened his 38-year-old partner with weapons in that municipality, a source from that security force revealed.

The Public Relations officer of the GNR’s Beja Territorial Command, Ensign Luís Guerreiro, told Lusa that the man was present on Tuesday and again today at the first judicial interrogation in the Odemira Court, which ordered him to be held in custody. The suspect, a foreign national, was taken to the Beja Prison Establishment, where he will await the outcome of the proceedings, according to the same source. The man was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday in Brejão, in the parish of São Teotónio, “in flagrante delicto”, when he was threatening his wife with a bladed weapon and a replica firearm, he reported. The suspect, according to the source from the Guarda, was arrested by members of the Odemira Territorial Detachment, in the district of Beja, who carried out a house search and seized the respective weapons and some ammunition.
