PSP and GNR platform says that new proposal may be unconstitutional

The platform that brings together the structures of the PSP and GNR today considered that the Government's new proposal for a mission supplement creates "illegal and even unconstitutional situations", stating that in the future "there is a loss" of salary.

At the end of the meeting between the Minister of Internal Administration and the six PSP unions, Bruno Pereira explained to journalists that the proposal presented today has "only one difference" from the previous one, "a value that doubles".

"It goes from an increase of 75 to 150 euros, but it is based on a safeguard clause, which means that tomorrow we would have an increase in the limit of 150 euros, but for police officers who enter again or for those who transfer and progress within the profession there will be a substantial loss of salary", said the president of the National Union of Police Officers (SNOP).

Bruno Pereira considered that "in the limit it creates illegal situations and even unconstitutional ones", since there will be police officers "in the same category and in the same index earning manifestly different amounts".

The Government today presented a new proposal to the PSP unions and socio-professional associations of the GNR, proposing a mission supplement between 521 and 730 euros and the end of the current service and risk supplement in the security forces.
