Five arrested in drug trafficking operation in several municipalities
The arrests took place in the municipalities of Viseu, Mangualde, Sátão, Santa Comba Dão and Aguiar da Beira.

Five people - a 21-year-old woman and four men aged between 21 and 42 - were arrested as part of an operation against drug trafficking in several municipalities in the country, the National Republican Guard (GNR) reported on Wednesday.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the authority said that the arrests took place on Wednesday in the municipalities of Viseu, Mangualde, Sátão, Santa Comba Dão and Aguiar da Beira.
The investigation into drug trafficking had been going on for about six months and the military managed to find out that "the suspects were selling narcotic substances, as well as new psychoactive substances, in the areas of the various municipalities mentioned".
Eight search warrants were executed and six vehicle search warrants were executed, which culminated in the arrest of the five suspects and the seizure of 900 doses of hashish, 175 doses of cocaine, 2.4 grams of ketamine, 100 bottles of nitrous oxide, several knives, 500 euros in cash, four laptops, 11 mobile phones and several objects used in cutting and storing narcotic products.
The detainees will be presented this Thursday at the Trancoso Judicial Court for the application of coercive measures.
