Body of 26-year-old German found on the banks of the Mira river in Odemira
A 26-year-old German man was found dead on the banks of the Mira River, near Santa Clara-a-Velha, in the municipality of Odemira, district of Beja, a source from the fire department told Lusa today.

The commander of the Odemira firefighters, Luís Oliveira, indicated that the body was found at the end of Wednesday afternoon by a local.
"The firefighters removed the body," he added.
A source from the GNR told Lusa that "there are no indications of a crime".
The body was transported to the Legal Medicine service of the Beja Hospital for an autopsy, added the source from the Guarda.
According to a source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Alentejo Litoral, the alert for this occurrence was given at 6:59 pm on Wednesday.
17 firefighters from Odemira, the National Institute of Medical Emergency, the GNR and the Portuguese Red Cross were mobilised to the site, supported by eight vehicles, including an ambulance for Immediate Life Support from Odemira.
