The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) revealed this Thursday that it received a "denunciation" related to the alleged assault of a child at a school in Amadora.

The case continues to raise many doubts, namely the nationality of the alleged victim, which has not been confirmed.

"The receipt of a denunciation related to the matter is confirmed, clarifying that it does not contain information on the victim's nationality. That denunciation only indicates the nationality of the mother, who is not Nepalese", refers the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in a clarification request to Notícias ao Minuto.

The PGR also clarifies that until now "the specific age of the perpetrators" of the crime is not known, which is why "an educational guardianship inquiry and a criminal inquiry were instituted".

"The educational guardianship inquiry (ITE) is provided for in the Educational Guardianship Law, when facts qualified by the law as a crime are at stake, practiced by minors between 12 and 16 years old", explains the PGR in the note.

It should be recalled that Rádio Renascença reported on Tuesday that a nine-year-old Nepalese boy was assaulted at a school in Lisbon and that the complaint was made by the executive director of a Church institution, the Centro Padre Alves Correia (Cepac), who considered that "the motivations of the other minors were xenophobic and racist".

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Education clarified that the school where a violent assault on a 9-year-old Nepalese child was reported is unaware of "the alleged episode" and that the only two Nepalese students at the establishment attend secondary school.
