Authorities rescue 12 people from tourist boat in Madeira

Doze people had to be rescued from a tourist boat during the afternoon of Thursday, by the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre Salvamento Marítimo do Funchal, Madeira, due to mechanical problems, when they were sailing about 3.5 nautical miles south of Tabua.
The alert was received, according to Sanas Madeira, in the middle of the afternoon. On the boat were two crew members and ten passengers, some of whom were already unwell when the authorities arrived at the scene.
Despite this, according to a publication by Sanas Madeira published on Facebook, everyone refused medical assistance, so they were transported to Funchal.
After leaving the passengers on safe ground, Sanas returned to the location where the boat was to tow it to the marina in Funchal.
Later, the authorities shared a video of the rescue operation on social media.
