In a statement released this Friday, the security force revealed that, within the scope of an investigation into vehicle theft that occurred on May 1, in the village of Luz, in the municipality of Lagos, the military "carried out investigation procedures that culminated in the location and identification of the suspect".
The GNR verified that, "in addition to stealing items from the vehicles, the suspect used the victims' bank cards to make purchases or withdraw money".
Following this, a search warrant was executed at the suspect's home and two search warrants were executed on vehicles, which allowed the recovery and seizure of several items, namely 254 euros in cash, a gold chain, two mobile phones, two watches, a vacuum cleaner, four pepper spray cans, a katana and various items of clothing.
It should be noted that, during the operation, "a vehicle that was being used by the suspect was recovered, and it was possible to confirm that it had been stolen a few weeks earlier in Praia da Luz".
The detainee will be presented at the Lagos Judicial Court today, May 17, for the application of coercive measures.
