Mock drills affect traffic in Algés and on the Oeiras Marginal
The initiative is part of the celebrations of the Civil Protection Week, which takes place from May 13th to 19th. See the images.

Two accident simulations are, this Saturday, conditioning traffic next to the Vasco da Gama aquarium, in Algés, and on Avenida Marginal, in Oeiras. The initiative is part of the Civil Protection Week commemorations, which run from May 13 to 19.
Speaking to Notícias ao Minuto, the Paço de Arcos Firefighters said that the initiative involves "the four corporations of the municipality", which include the Algés Volunteer Firefighters, the Progresso Barcarenense Volunteer Firefighters, the Carnaxide Firefighters and the Dafundo Volunteer Firefighters.
A note published on the Instagram of the Paço de Arcos Firefighters states that the initiative's "objective is to raise awareness of the importance of Civil Protection in the prevention and protection of people and property in situations of serious emergencies and catastrophes". The authorities also intend to "make known all the means and the main players in the Municipal Civil Protection system".
This year, the commemorations are held under the motto "Together we are safer" and include several activities. See here the Civil Protection Week programme released by the Municipality of Oeiras.
