PSP seizes vehicles in illegal racing operation in Leiria

The Leiria Public Security Police (PSP) set up an operation at the end of the night on Friday, May 17, within the scope of combating illegal racing and unauthorized vehicle modifications.
In a statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, the PSP reveals that the operation took place in ZICOFA, Cova das Faias Industrial Zone, in Leiria and was triggered "as a result of the verification and monitoring of several gatherings of vehicles at that location in recent months, with several episodes of risky driving behaviors, thus endangering the safety of other drivers and of the several people who go to that location to watch the illegal stunts".
With this operation, around 40 vehicles ended up being inspected, resulting in the seizure of 3 vehicles for "unauthorized changes to their characteristics", the missive also reveals.
Also as a consequence of this inspection, the documents of 2 other vehicles were seized, 10 minutes of contravention were drawn up for various reasons, 1 notice of presentation of documents and the seizure of about 5 grams of hashish.
