ASAE opens 4 criminal proceedings for counterfeiting in Sporting-Chaves

On Saturday, the 18th, the Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) carried out an inspection operation within the scope of combating counterfeiting and crime prevention, "aimed at non-sedentary trade in textile articles and accessories", alluding to the teams that played the 1st League Game - Sporting Clube de Portugal–Grupo Desportivo de Chaves, which took place in Lisbon.
The Authority reveals that, as a result of the operation, 16 economic operators were inspected, and 4 criminal proceedings were instituted for counterfeiting, imitation and illegal use of a brand, in addition to the misdemeanors of "unfair competition and street vending without the proper prior communication" and also 4 contravention proceedings for "lack of prior communication for the street vending activity".
229 counterfeit articles were seized, namely scarves, hats and panamas for improper use of registered trademarks without the authorization of their legitimate owners and also 168 articles that were being marketed by individuals who did not have the prior communication for street vending.
The value of the seizure amounts to 1,780 euros.
