Lisbon. They attacked, gagged and tied up an elderly woman to steal 622 euros

The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) issued a final indictment against two women who assaulted an elderly woman in Lisbon and demanded her debit card code.
According to an MP statement, in a joint process, the women are accused of a crime of aggravated robbery, a crime of abuse of a guarantee card and a crime of attempted robbery.
The facts occurred on October 18, 2023, in Lisbon, when the defendants approached the victim, 89 years old, at her residence, where they "assaulted, gagged and tied her to a bed".
They demanded the victim's debit card code and made withdrawals and a payment with her card, totaling 622.76 euros. The victim suffered bruising and pain, but did not require hospital treatment.
In addition, the defendants tried to approach another victim, but gave up when they noticed the presence of a military officer from the National Republican Guard (GNR), the victim's son-in-law.
According to the MP, the defendants are currently subject to the coercive measure of the obligation to remain in the house under electronic surveillance.
